Although Faraday Future’s concept-car has just officially been revealed, the company makes it clear that the FFZERO1 is a map of things to come.
When we heard that the newly founded car company (just 18 months ago) was prepping a Tesla rivaling automobile, we expected just that – a four door sedan, capable of holding its own against Palo Alto’s best.
Nevertheless, we were impressed and astonished to see a supercar-like machine, with over 1000 hp at its disposal, being presented as Faraday’s own take at the matter. One thing was clear though, this wasn’t a Tesla aimed automobile.
As it turns out, the FFZERO1 sits on what Faraday Future calls a Variable Platform Architecture, a truly modular platform that incorporates a number of different engine options, including the possibility of all-wheel, front-wheel, or rear-wheel drive configurations.
Basically, the FFZERO1 could be the development platform to spawn future models – that could actually take on Tesla’s products – as a subtle teaser depicting a SUVesque silhouette can be seen in one of the videos released to promote the outrageous concept car.
Mind you, even though we know some technical aspects of the FFZERO1, we’re inclining to believe that the possible production-spec, normal-looking, electric cars won’t probably boast the stunning 1,000 horsepower power figure and the low 0 to 100 km/h acceleration time.
