To the average Joe, the vehicle pictured is the world’s fastest production car, the Bugatti Veyron. While to us, it is obviously a replica, for $82,000, it is convincing enough to fool some people into thinking you’re the owner of a game-changing hypercar.
Created by Just Toys Classic Cars, this 2008 Veyron replica is based around a Mercury Cougar from 2001 and as far as replicas go, it’s quite impressive.
The front fascia includes the French marque’s famous grille as well as a front bumper designed to mimic the range-topping Veyron Super Sport. The headlights, hood and central spine running along the bonnet are also relatively accurate.
Moving down the sides of the replica and they too are quite accurate even though the proportions are all wrong. The bodykit is comprehensive enough to even includes brake calipers with a ‘Bugatti’ logo painted on. The Veyron inspiration continues at the rear decklid where Just Toys Classic Cars has mimicked the quad-turbocharged 8.0-liter W16 engine of the rear thing.
In reality, the car is powered by a far less impressive 3.0-liter V6 Duratec engine but if taken onto the streets, we can imagine many people being fooled by the car.
