Current owners of the BMW M235i who desire the M2’s performance specs but don’t feel like trading in their car, might want to take a look at what the tuning minds over at G-Power have to offer.
Their new plug and play BI-TRONIK 2 V1 performance software gives the M235i’s 3.0-liter turbocharged six a 54PS (53hp) and 80Nm (59 lb-ft) boost, taking it from 326PS (322hp) and 450Nm (332 lb-ft) to 380PS (375hp) and 530Nm (391 lb-ft) respectively, besting the M2’s 370PS (365hp) and 465Nm (343 lb-ft).
G-Power says that with this ECU upgrade, priced at €2,320.50 (equal to US$2,508) or €2.428,89 (US$2,625) with installation, the M235i matches the manual M2’s 0-100km/h (62mph) time of 4.5 seconds, without specifying the transmission, but either way, it’s faster than both the stock M235i 6sp manual model (5.0 sec) and 8sp automatic (4.8 sec).
You can also opt for the software that allows the increase of the factory restricted top speed from 250km/h (155mph) to 300km/h (186mph) for €794,92 (US$860) or €903,31 (US$976) with installation.
