In its first year as official NFL sponsor, Hyundai is ready to run four ads on Super Bowl Sunday, featuring A-list celebrities such as comedian and actor Kevin Hart and Hollywood star Ryan Reynolds.
Hyundai will run one 60-second ad during the pre-kick time slot, another 60-second ad during the half time show, and also two 30-second ads during breaks in the game, such as during timeouts and play reviews.
Hyundai Motor America CMO Dean Evans said that “Super Bowl Sunday is our opportunity to participate in the most-watched TV and live event in the U.S. This is our first Super Bowl as an official NFL sponsor, and we wanted to use a unique storytelling approach and A-list talent to delight and entertain the fans while showcasing the latest technology available in our vehicles.”
“We are honored to be a part of the conversation during the most important day of the NFL season.”
The pre-kick 60-second spot, directed by none other than Peter Berg, is to be called ‘First Date’ and will feature Kevin Hart as well as the Genesis sedan. During the ad, Kevin is going to make sure his daughter makes it back home safe from her first date with the help of Hyundai’s Blue Link Car Finder feature.
Berg directed one of the 30-second ads as well, called ‘Ryanville’, where two women are having a hard time keeping their eyes on the road as soon as Ryan Reynolds shows up. Of course, that’s when the all-new Elantra’s advanced safety features come in and save the day, probably.
The other 30-second ad will highlight Hyundai’s voice-activated Blue Link Remote Start feature on the all-new Elantra and will be called ‘The Chase’.
Finally, the 60-second ad that will air during half time will be titled ‘Better’ and will follow the life of a boy from birth through adulthood as he looks for ways to make the world a better place. This is meant to reflect Hyundai’s own mission to make its vehicles and consumer experience better.
