Being its first car since is was transformed into a sub-brand of parent company Citroen, DS wants the DS4 wants to be seriously considered as a premium product.

The French firm’s decision to relaunch the DS4 is meant to provide the necessary image to compete with the (mostly German) establishment in this segment.

Still, being considered “premium’” requires more than just launching a brand and slapping a new grille onto existing models. On the other hand, it’s up to the car, in this case the DS4, to prove if it has what it takes to be competitive against rivals like the Audi A3, the BMW 1-Series and the Volvo V40.
