Whether it’s called the CX-4, the CX-7 or perhaps even the CX-6, these scoops prove that Mazda is gearing up for the presentation of the production version of last year’s Koeru Concept.
The sports, or as some carmakers would have you call it, four-door coupe-style crossover, was spotted completely naked revealing a styling that stays fairly true to the study – a set of larger wheels would have certainly helped its case here.
If the Koeru Concept is any indication, then it should have a slightly larger footprint than the CX-5 at around 4.6m or just above 181 inches long, likely sharing the same wheelbase.
Mazda officials have said that the production crossover will be a completely new entry in the range offering “more driving pleasure” than their existing SUVs.
There’s nothing yet on the powertrain range, but it would make a lot of sense for the Japanese carmaker to include its newest offering, the 250hp 2.5-liter turbocharged four that just made its debut on the 2017 CX-9.
