Mercedes UK released the range details of the new SLC roadster along with official pricing.
The new Mercedes SLC will be available with four different engines, three petrol and one diesel unit. The entry-level SLC 200 uses a 184hp 2.0-litre petrol unit mated to a six-speed manual gearbox or an optional 9G-Tronic automatic transmission which drops the CO2 emissions from 150g/km to 137g/km.
The SLC 300 uses the same 2.0-litre petrol with the power updated to 245hp and comes only in conjunction with the 9G-Tronic gearbox. Next up, we have the diesel SLC 250d which is powered by a 204hp 2.1-litre unit and -as the SLC 300- comes only with the automatic option. As you would expect, the SLC 250d represents the most fuel-efficient model of the line-up and the one with the lowest CO2 rating, scoring 114g/km.
Mercedes offers the SLC 200 and SLC 250d in two trim options, Sport and AMG Line. Sport models come with 17-inch five-spoke alloys, LED daytime running lights, Active Brake Assist, Attention Assist, Active Bonnet and chrome-plated twin exhaust tailpipes among others.
AMG Line models gain 18-inch AMG multi-spoke alloy wheels while the LED Intelligent Light System with Adaptive Highbeam Assist Plus costs an extra £1,150.
The range-topping SLC 43 AMG uses a biturbo 3.0-litre V6 unit producing 367hp and 383lb.ft (520Nm) of torque. Zero to 62mph comes in 4.7 seconds with the top speed traditionally limited to 155mph.
Prices start from £30,495 for the manual SLC 200 Sport version with the diesel SLC 250d asking for £32,995. As for the 367hp SLC 43 AMG, the price is set at £46,355.
