A new generation of the Renault Megane Sport Tourer is around the corner, as a new report says it will be presented in about a month’s time.
Captured on camera by our spy photographers for the first time a week ago, the more practical version of the compact car is said to debut at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, as L’Automobile Magazine reports, and not at the Paris event, next fall, as initial data indicated.
The vehicle will mirror the design of the hatchback, up to the C-pillar, and its length will increase by approximately 30cm at the rear, making room for a more spacious boot. The interior will be carried over and so will the engine lineup, with its four-pot petrol and diesel units that include the current 202hp GT range-topper.
A rival to the Ford Focus Estate, Opel Astra Sports Tourer or Volkswagen Golf Estate, among others, the new generation of the Renault Megane Sport Tourer should go on sale across Europe in the second half of 2016. The estate is believed to be slightly more expensive than the five-door hatchback, which can be currently had from €16,790 (equal to $18,250) in Germany.
