The Ford Ohio facility will support additional production of the 2017 F-Series Super Duty chassis cab.

Employing nearly 1,400 people, one of the largest job providers in Lorain County, the Ohio Assembly Plant, which opened in 1974, joins Kentucky Truck Plant with the Super Duty chassis cab production, in the F-350, F-450 and F-550 versions.

Built with advanced materials for the 2017MY that help save up to 350 pounds (159kg), the F-Series Super Duty offers more towing and hauling capability than before and, thanks to its larger brakes, hubs and axles, which support work demands, the vehicle remains one of the preferred choices of construction firms, and not only.

Super Duty chassis cabs are the number one trusted choice of tradespeople and fleet customers, from utility companies to construction firms. The all-new Super Duty will help these customers keep the lights on, deliver supplies and build a better world for their customers“, said Ford North American Fleet, Lease and Remarketing Operations Director, Kevin Koswick.

Electrical equipment can be connected easier to the truck, thanks to the new smart CAN (Controller Area Network) interface, which brings six auxiliary upfitter switches capable to operate lights, compressors and other power equipment.

Engine lineup for the Ford F-Series Super Duty chassis cab includes a 6.2-liter gasoline V8, a 6.8-liter gasoline V10 and a 6.7-liter Power Stroke turbo diesel V8.
