Nissan took another step towards the unveil of the production Nissan Kicks crossover with an exclusive website teaser.
Since it was introduced at the Sao Paulo Motor Show in concept form almost two years ago, Nissan used a Brazilian domain to tease the model. even if our Portuguese is a little rusty, we managed to find out that the automaker mentioned its “boldness in design, technology and fun to drive” on the website.
The final version of the Nissan Kicks will be sold globally after its Latin American debut in 2016. The crossover will be compact sized and it will be built at the company’s Resende Industrial Complex in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, developed in collaboration between NDA-R (Nissan Design America- Rio) and NDA (Nissan Design America), in San Diego.
Not a lot is known on the production Kicks so far, but IAB reports that it will allegedly be based on the Nissan V-Platform, so it will have a lot in common with vehicles such as the Micra, the Tiida/Pulsar, the Note, and the Latio/Almera/Sunny/Versa.
Power is expected to come from a 1.8-liter Flex engine, connected to a manual transmission or to a CVT. Full details on the Kicks will be released later this year, when the automaker will pull the wraps off.
