Whatever your reason is for removing any type of badge or emblem from your brand new 2016 Porsche 911 Carrera is, we hope it has everything to do with simply improving on the car’s appearance.
It turns out that all you need in order to remove the brand inscription off of your 911 is a heat gun in order to be able to take the letters off, despite the sticky glue that was initially applied to them. You can either do this because you forgot to tell Porsche you don’t want anything written down on your 911, or simply because you got other plans for the car.
Thankfully, the plans behind this video were as simple as the task at hand. The owner wanted the original text removed so that he could replace it with its darker doppelganger – which just happens to look awesome on this red 911 Carrera S.
The only downside is, hateful people could use this ‘tutorial’ to sabotage somebody’s Porsche (or pretty much any car) in a way that makes it impossible for anybody to know who was behind the whole “operation”.
But let’s not get too caught up in the negative. The purpose of the video is to show us how a professional goes about replacing the original letters with a set of black ones, which should also go really well together with a white car, green, gray and pretty much all colors that are particularly warm.
If you head down to your nearest online Porsche configurator, you’ll see that you can change a lot of things regarding the car’s appearance, including removing the model name, choosing a different color for the inscriptions and so on.
