Available in both hatch and estate form, the new Octavia vRS AWD can now be ordered in Great Britain.
Prices start from £27,315 for the hatch, while the more practical estate is slightly more expensive at £28,515, making the all-wheel drive model £1,450 more expensive than the FWD.
The 2016 Skoda Octavia vRS 4×4 comes with standard items such as 18-inch Gemini anthracite alloy wheels, sports suspension system bi-xenon headlights, satellite navigation system and dual-zone climate control with humidity sensor, added to the multi-link sports suspension and electronic differential lock XDS+.
A a 2.0-liter TDI diesel producing 184PS (181hp) and 380Nm (280lb-ft) of torque is the sole engine option. Power is sent to the four-wheel drive system through a standard six-speed DSG transmission. The 4WD system constantly monitors traction on all wheels and directs power to whichever axle needs it.
The 0-62mph (0-100km/h) sprint takes 7.6 seconds in the hatch and 7.7 seconds in the estate, 0.3sec faster than the 2WD. Combined fuel consumption is 57.7mpg UK (69.3mpg US / 4.9L/100km) for the former and 56.5mpg (67.9 mpg US / 4.2L/100km) on the latter, while CO2 emissions stop at 129g/km and 131g/km respectively.
