By today’s standards, the Lamborghini Diablo isn’t all that fast, but at the time of its introduction in 1990, it belonged in the supercar elite.
As we’ve come to expect from all of Lamborghini’s halo cars throughout the decades, the Diablo was offered in a range of variations. The GT was one of them: restricted to just 80 units worldwide, it was the fastest of the breed, outpacing even the SV.
Power for the extremely-limited-run supercar sits at 575 hp and 465 lb-ft, courtesy of a the naturally-aspirated 6.0-liter V12. With power sent only to the rear axle, it was in fact the fastest rear-wheel drive Lambo before the Gallardo LP550-2 Valentino Balboni arrived in 2009.
Given its rarity and place in Lamborghini history, it isn’t surprising that the car is becoming quite a valuable asset among enthusiasts. One is currently up for sale from tuning company Top Car for €720,000($780,000).
This particular Diablo GT is number 73, has 6,500 km on the clock and sports black paint and a yellow and black upholstery in the cabin.
