Most of us have done it; ordered an Uber ride while inebriated and generally, it works out fine. In other instances, angry and drunk Uber users can lash out at drivers. Management at the ride-sharing service is aware of this and has already started work on a fix.
The NY Daily News reports that Uber has started tests in North Carolina where ‘Bop It!’, the famous children’s toy, will be placed in the back of the driver’s seat. First released in the 1990s, Uber believes drunk users can be pacified with this simple toy while offering drivers some peace.
According to Uber’s chief security officer “An intoxicated rider who is engaged in something interesting is less likely to be irritable and aiming aggression at the driver.”
While it’s hard to imagine all Uber cars worldwide coming with Bop Its to keep passengers entertained, Uber drivers have previously installed mirrors in their vehicles to help moderate the behavior of passengers when they catch their reflection.
