Footwear designer United Nude imagined an automobile throwing all conventions to the bin, and the result is a contraption called the Lo Res.
The sharp, pointy sculpture is nothing more than an abstract interpretation of an automobile that does away with some of the practical details we’re used to.
This is part of the company’s Lo Res Project, which is based on the principle of re-designing the same object in a series, each time lowering the 3D resolution, resulting, as United Nude says, in a more fragmented and abstract design each step of the way.
Using Marcello Gandini’s iconic Lamborghini Countach as a base, the fashion designer firm reduced the car’s design to a polygonal shaped polycarbonate body that surrounds the passengers like a transparent capsule for a unique driving experience. Truth be told, it brings to mind something of a sci-fi flick than any car designed by the same Gandini.
The interior is keeping the minimalist approach, with some parts made from polished stainless steel contrasting with the rest of the car which was deliberately kept raw and finished in matte black coating.
Moroever, United Nude says that in order to achieve the purest form, the vehicle has no doors; instead, its entire body opens up like a canopy to allow access in the cockpit.
The company says its car designing days are not over and it will continue challenging the conventional manufacturing techniques and the future of cars.
