No, it’s not a joke, it’s the famous vehicle from the famous James Bond movie, “The Spy Who Loved Me” and it’s currently up for grabs at 7 figures.

The $1,000,000 price will get its future owner the 1977 Lotus Esprit, which was modified for 007, played by Roger Moore. The car has a pearl white finish and it’s in “good” condition as it was restored by Rick Dale and featured on History Channel’s “American Restoration”.

However, the seller says that the vehicle is not unique and it’s “one of only 3 remaining Lotus submarine prop cars“, out of a total six built and used in the film, but only one of them was drivable under water and that one wasn’t even pressurized like a real submarine.

So, for the hefty price tag, the buyer will get a classic Lotus that cannot be driven on the road and it doesn’t work when wet either. Talk about a true bargain… Well, at least its wheels are said to be retractable, its fins apparently move and, in the end, this is a piece of movie history.

If somehow the prop car tickled your imagination, then you should know that financing is available too, with “just” 20 percent down and upon approved credit. The vehicle is located in Nevada and it isn’t the only one of its kind sold, as two years ago, a similar ride fetched £616,000, or today’s equivalent of $900,000, and was apparently purchased by Elon Musk, with the intention of making it fully functional.

If a Bond Lotus Esprit submarine still sounds interesting to you, but you don’t want to pay a fortune for one, then a “Hot Wheels” edition might be just what the doctor ordered, especially since one goes for just under $10.
