The first spy shots of the updated interior of the S-Class facelift are here, revealing all the major changes Mercedes is currently planning.
Mercedes has been keeping our spies busy with the facelifted S-Class for the past few months, but it’s the first time they were able to take a look inside, as the development drivers reportedly forgot to put the covers down.
One of the most obvious changes is the new steering wheel, first seen in the latest E-Class, with a three-spoke sporty design and the company’s touch-sensitive buttons on it.
Look a little bit closer and you’ll notice the new and bigger set of displays, with the buttons between them gone, making them look more integrated. There is also a new touchpad controller for the infotainment system, replacing the old rotary selector.
The lighter camouflage of the exterior also allows us to see the new lighting pattern of the front headlights.
The German flagship is expected to gain all the electronic gizmos that debuted in the smaller E-Class, including the Drive Pilot semi-autonomous feature, but as tradition goes, Mercedes will make sure that the new S-Class will remain one step ahead of the smaller models.
