It seems that no longer can the Audi R8 be considered a “poor-er man’s Lamborghini”, as it was sometimes the case with the previous generation model when compared to the Gallardo.
Boasting no fewer than 610 PS to go with its 560 Nm (413 lb-ft) of torque, the new generation flagship Audi R8 is just as capable on paper as the Lamborghini Huracan, with which it shares the same power unit.
Looking at the numbers, which are of course nearly identical, both cars should hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.2 seconds before maxing out at around 330 km/h (205 mph) in the case of the R8, and 325 km/h (201 mph) in case of the Lambo.
Of course, their weight is similar as well, though the R8 carries around a couple of extra kg – 32 to be precise (70 lbs), which may or may not prove to be vital during this particular drag race.
And yes, we’re being coy on purpose, since giving away the ending isn’t something we’re looking forward to doing.
However, we will say that both cars sound and accelerate really well, and that once they cross the finish line, you may just end up with a smirk on your face.
