This is the 2017 Bentley Mulsanne, the brand’s updated flagship which now comes for the first time with an extended-wheelbase model.
Bentley revealed their top-end model prior to the official debut in Geneva Motor Show, presenting for the first time three distinct models in the Mulsanne family.
The really new one is none other than the Extended Wheelbase version, which offers 250mm (9.8 in.) of extra rear legroom for its noble passengers, airline-style extending legrests and a rear sunroof for their maximum pleasure.
The Mulsanne Speed remains the cruise missile of the range, offering 530hp and more importantly 1,100Nm (811lb ft) of torque for making every trip shorter and more enjoyable. 0-60mph comes in 4.9 seconds with the top speed rated at the most comfortable 190mph of the market.
Bentley revised the exterior of the Mulsanne by adding a completely redesigned front end which now features new fenders, bonnet, lights and that huge, imposing front grille. Front and rear bumpers have also been updated.
The cabin now hosts redesigned seats, new door trims and armrests, switchgear made of glass(!) and 24 different colors to choose from for the leather upholstery. Bentley has also installed a new touchscreen infotainment system with all the latest tech packed in it.
“The three distinct handcrafted models now available each offer customers something different,” said Wolfgang Dürheimer, Bentley CEO.
“The Mulsanne, with its understated elegance and sporting purpose, remains the consummate luxury limousine; the Mulsanne Speed is the pinnacle of luxury and performance thanks to its immense power, torque and refinement; and now the Mulsanne Extended Wheelbase – with its extraordinary airline-style seats and rear-passenger bias – becomes the new benchmark in automotive comfort.”
