Despite several prototypes being scooped on the Old Continent, it seems BMW‘s new model will be available solely in the Chinese market.
No official announcement has been made, but Autocar reports that the 2-Series Sedan, which is currently in final stages of development, will go up against the Audi A3 Sedan in the Asian country.
Equipped with four-pot turbo petrol and diesel engines, the China-only version of the compact sedan will be front-wheel drive, but BMW’s xDrive all-wheel drive may be offered as an option.
The 1-Series / 2-Series Sedan (name unconfirmed yet) was spied a couple of months ago by local media, who reported that the car will be produced locally by the Brilliance-BMW joint venture.
Europeans will apparently get a similar model, a 2-Series GT instead that will look a lot like a smaller 3-Series GT.
