The Spyder has always been somewhat of an oddity within the motorcycle industry, due mainly to its three-wheeled layout.
Even so, Can-Am has decided to promote the trike with the release of a high-performance variant, the Spyder F3 Turbo.
Visually, the Spyder F3 Turbo Concept includes a distinct front grille and splitter alongside a NASCAR-inspired livery.
Power comes from a 1.33-liter three-cylinder Rotax engine like the standard F3 – as its name suggests, though, it has been fitted with a turbocharger that lifts power to 150 hp and 137 lb-ft of torque. Those figures are enough to rocket the trike to 96 km/h (60 mph) in just 4.3 seconds and down the quarter mile in 12.3 seconds.
Beyond the engine upgrades, Can-Am went about improving the vehicle’s handling and decided to install new shock absorbers from Fox and a set of slick tires. A new Sport Mode allows the rear end to slide just like a four-wheeled sports car.
