Pre-production of the new Citroen C6 recently started in China and now, a teaser sketch for the car has been released.
The new model is being produced by Dongfend Peugeot-Citroen and will celebrate its public debut at the Beijing Auto Show in April, before production of customer cars commence in September.
From the sketch, it’s immediately obvious that the new C6 exclusive to China looks very different to the old model.
For starters, it includes new headlights similar in shape to those of the latest Volkswagen Passat as well as a larger front grille that maintains the company’s prominent central badge and two horizontal elements.
The round foglights of the previous model have also been replaced in favour of more stylish air intake surrounds. The sedan’s roofline also appears lower and the side windows sleeker.
Underpinning the new C6 will be PSA’s EMP2 platform and, when it launches, the car should be offered with a selection of turbocharged 1.8-liter and 2.0-liter engines. A hybrid derivative could also see the light of day.
