Tesla Motors CEO Elon Musk has personally cancelled a customer’s Model X order after he wrote a “super rude” post about the recent launch event on his blog.
Entitled “Dear @ElonMusk: you should be ashamed of yourself“, the open letter complained about the presentation, which started late, focused on safety too much and didn’t offer customers who deposited $5,000 for a Model X the chance to drive one.
Stewart Alsop, the disappointed Tesla customer, ended his post with: “it would still be nice if you showed some class and apologized to the people who believe in this product“, and he managed to grab Elon Musk’s attention.
In a follow-up posting titled “Banned By Tesla!“, the blogger relayed his phone conversation with the company’s co-founder and CEO: “I also hear that you are not comfortable having me own a Tesla car and have cancelled my order for a Tesla Model X.”
He added: “I must also admit that I am a little taken aback to be banned by Tesla. When I wrote a blog post about my BMW X1 called ‘My Car Makes Me Feel Stoopid’, the CEO of BMW didn’t take the car back.”
Elon Musk’s response to the whole “situation” came in the form of a Tweeter post.
Must be a slow news day if denying service to a super rude customer gets this much attention
