On a 60 kilometer frozen lake in Arjeplog, Sweden, former Chelsea FC manager Jose Mourinho put the new Jaguar F-PACE S through its paces as part of an extreme driver training experience.
The event took place just 40 miles (64 km) from the Arctic Circle, and starting this year, the Jaguar Ice Driving Experience will be available to customers all around the world, which in turn will get to enjoy some high speed drifting and full throttle ice driving on the frozen lake.
“The experience was magnificent. For people in my world, I think a few days in a place like this is magnificent,” confessed Mourinho, whose driving skills were seriously tested at temperatures as low as -30 Celsius.
Along side the famous football icon was Finnish professional driver Tommi Karrinaho who made sure that if anything, the flying lap was going to give Mourinho the same feeling of excitement that he gets before really big games.
“I am always learning. Even in football, which is an area that obviously I feel I’m an expert, I’m never perfect and I always learn. The flying lap with Tommi sent my adrenaline soaring. It’s something I’ve only ever experienced before when I have walked out in front of 80,000 football fans.”
The three-time Premier League-winning manager also discussed what his next move might be as far as his career is concerned, saying that “I have worked for as long as I can remember as a manager and this is now the second time I have stopped in 16 years. So it’s not a drama, but for sure I will be back soon. This is a moment when my family needed some stability and my wife and I made the decision to stay in London. It’s an amazing place to live, an amazing place for them (my children) to study. I don’t know where football will take me because in football you never know, but for sure as a family our home will still be in London.”
By choosing to remain in London, Jose has already been linked to the Manchester United job (since Chelsea, Man City and Liverpool are off the table), though we can’t exactly rule out him grabbing another job in another country just yet.
As for the Jaguar F-PACE, Mourinho has already placed an order for one, and he already owns an F-TYPE Coupe, which kind of confirms the fact that he loves everything about the UK.
