The two 500+ hp sports cars are getting together to resolve their differences once and for all.

The RWD Jaguar F-Type with the supercharged V8 under the bonnet was always a car that demanded your full attention thanks to its tail-happy balance that sometimes could get a bit hairy.

The 550hp R version was a little bit better, but again was lacking in grip when compared with the best of its opponents. That’s why Jaguar decided to throw an AWD version of the R in the market, increasing traction so it could put its considerable oomph to good use.

On the other hand, the Mercedes-AMG GT S is so well-sorted it can let each axle do one thing only: the front, steer and the rear, put the power down. All 503 hp of it, coming from the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8.

MotorTrend brings the two cars together to find out which one is the fastest and more fun to drive. Can the Jag get one over AMG’s finest?
