Germany’s Nurburgring Nordschleife wasn’t called ‘Green Hell’ by Sir Jackie Stewart for no reason. It’s an incredibly dangerous track and has claimed the lives of dozens of drivers and motorcycle riders.
Despite having very few run off areas, countless difficult corners, menacing steel crash barriers and bumps and jumps aplenty, the Nurburgring is open to the public and often gives drivers a scary reality check, particularly BMW drivers it seems.
This video brings together some of the craziest BMW crashes and near-misses captured at a couple of treacherous corners on the famed circuit and shows some fairly exclusive and expensive BMWs being utterly destroyed.
Of all the crashes shown, the one at the 30-second mark stands out for us. It shows a matte grey E92-gen M3 GTS coming unstuck into the entry of a sweeping left-hand bend.
Unable to correct the slide, the sports car slips into the grass and careens across the track and into a crash barrier before the driver can even apply the brakes.
