The Japanese automaker will attend this year’s Geneva Motor Show with three different vehicles.

If you were expecting a true successor of the Lancer Evolution that will continue the legendary battle with Subaru’s WRX STI, then you will be disappointed, because Mitsubishi’s idea of the future doesn’t seem to focus in this direction.

One of the models to be introduced at the Swiss event is the eX Concept, a compact SUV originally presented last year in Tokyo. The study, which previews the company’s new design language, has an electric powertrain paired with AWD and promises a range of up to 248 miles (399km).

The other two vehicles, which will be unveiled on March 1 by Mitsubishi, are “two all-new show cars“, based on the new L200 and 2017 ASX. These “blend traditional Mitsubishi Motors SUV credentials with striking designers’ outfit” and carry bright orange accents, mid-grey livery and black alloy wheels.

Mitsubishi didn’t provide other details on its two “show cars” yet, as it is keeping them a surprise for the Swiss show, but apparently this isn’t the only ace up the manufacturer’s sleeve for 2016 because its SUV lineup will reportedly expand with the addition of a new model.

The vehicle, which is currently unnamed, was hinted by a Mitsubishi exec last November, who said that the gap between the Outlander Sport / ASX and Outlander needs to be filled. Rumor has it that the upcoming SUV will make it into production towards the end of this year, with design elements borrowed from the eX Concept.
