Maserati’s upcoming SUV, the Levante, has apparently surfaced on the internet, and it looks like it stays true to the patent images we saw a while back.
Shortly after Maserati inadvertently announced its intention to finally present the production-version of its first ever SUV – through a leaked teaser – Autoweek.nl got hold of a few pictures of what seems to be the actual model before its official unveiling.
As expected, the crossover Maser aligns to the car maker’s current design language, being reminiscent of the Ghibli and even the Alfieri concept. Moreover, it respects the design patents that surfaced on the internet last year, although we’re not so certain that the company’s elegant design suits a bulky crossover.
The Levante is said to come with three engine options – which includes two 3.0-litre, twin-turbocharged V6 gasoline engines, and a 3.0-litre V6 turbo-diesel, borrowed from its little sibling, the Ghibli. From a performance standpoint, the powerplants could develop exactly same power output as Maserati’s luxury executive saloon, meaning that the two gasoline units will be good for at least 345 hp and 404 hp, respectively (in the “S” variant), while the diesel will settle for 266 hp.
