A fresh design, a selection of advanced turbocharged engines and a new name: the 718 Boxster is shaping up to be another hit on Porsche’s “playlist”.
In the following clips we get an insight into the new roadster, particularly the brand new turbo four engines. In standard guise, the 2.0-liter unit delivers 300 hp and 380 Nm of torque, resulting in a 0-100 km/h sprint time of just 4.7 seconds.
For the Boxster S, 350 hp and 420 Nm are good enough for a 4.2-second time to 100 km/h when outfitted with the PDK transmission and launch control.
The release of these two new motors comes on the back of the facelifted 991-generation 911’s turbocharged flat-six. These new forced induction flat-fours are not only more powerful than the previous naturally aspirated sixes, but also more fuel efficient and eco-friendly.
