What does the electric guitar have in common with big city lights and Nurburgring lap records you may ask? Electricity, of course.
Harnessing electricity seems to be a path that Porsche are quite comfortable with as of right now. They’ve got S E-Hybrid versions of both the Panamera and the Cayenne in their stable, plus a hybrid hypercar to go with their 919 Hybrid Le Mans car.
The video’s description ultimately invites you to visit Porsche’s E-Performance website where you learn about the Mission E concept as well as what their vision is for the future of performance.
Surprisingly enough (in today’s world), Porsche said recently that they’re not interesting in developing autonomous driving technologies, since “one wants to drive a Porsche by oneself. An iPhone belongs in your pocket, not on the road,” said CEO Oliver Blume.
While that might change in the future, right now the German automaker is focused on getting automotive performance to go hand in hand with protecting the environment – and we certainly can’t wait to see what they’ve got in the pipeline in these next couple of years.
Also, we’ll give them extra points for getting the 918 Spyder, Panamera S E-Hybrid and Cayenne S E-Hybrid to go around Laguna Seca’s Corkscrew at the same time.
