Four years after its launch, the 500,000th Evoque has rolled off the company’s production line in Halewood, England.

The entry-level Range Rover is officially the company’s fastest selling model and since going on sale; moreover, it accounts for a third of total Land Rover sales, equating to one rolling off the production line every 80 seconds.

The Evoque was originally previewed in 2008 with the LRX Concept before hitting the market in 2011. In less than a year, 100,000 examples were delivered and last year, the three- and five-door versions were joined by the Convertible.

“The Evoque has been a huge success for Land Rover, winning more than 165 international awards, bringing new customers to the brand and evolving to stay ahead of the competition”, said chief design officer Gerry McGovern. “With our bold new Evoque Convertible we have broadened the range and will attract even more new customers to the brand.”
