Subaru of America has announced a new special edition of their XV Crosstrek limited to 1500 cars.
Subaru’s Impreza-based compact crossover offers a high ground clearance and the company’s Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive making it surprisingly capable in low-grip and off-road situations.
The XV Crosstrek is also one of the most fuel-efficient all-wheel drive crossovers in the US market, returning an EPA-estimated 34mpg on the highway.
The new limited Special Edition is based on the 2.0i Premium model and is painted in Subaru’s Pure Red color. The cabin now features red stitching on the gear lever, steering wheel and door panels while the dash trim with a red inlay is unique to this model. Keeping up with the general Red theme, the interior lighting on the front floor area and the storage space below the climate control now casts a soft red glow.
Every Subaru XV Crosstrek Special Edition will come with heated front seats, power moonroof, keyless access, Blind Spot Detection, Rear Cross Traffic Alert System with Lane Change Assist and the company’s 6.2-inch Starlink infotainment system.
Powered by a 148hp 2.0-litre boxer petrol engine mated to a CVT with six pre-selected ratios, the Subaru XV Crosstrek Special Edition will begin arriving into the dealership in late spring 2016, with the official debut scheduled for the Chicago Auto Show.
