According to one Model X P90D owner, Tesla’s crossover is not only faster than the Model S P85D saloon from 0 to 100 mph, but also stands as the world’s quickest production SUV.
Though one test can’t stand by itself all that well, if other Model X owners can obtain these types of sprint times, then it’s safe to say you won’t be out-running this 7-seat future-proof Tesla regardless of what SUV you’re in.
Of course, we’re talking about short sprints and low to mid acceleration figures, because we wouldn’t put this car up against the likes of the Bentley Bentayga just yet when it comes to top speed. In fact, seen as how the Bentayga is a 301 km/h (187 mph) car, the Model X should really keep from stretching its legs against it.
However, this is Tesla we’re talking about and we know all too well how Model S owners love to take advantage of that instant torque and nail 60 mph faster than most supercars. So when it comes to sprint times, here’s what this Model X was capable of.
It hit 60 mph (96 km/h) in 3.1 seconds, 62 mph (100 km/h) in 3.3 seconds and 100 mph (160 km/h) in just 7.9 seconds, which will flat out beat a BMW M5 while nearly matching a Lexus LFA.
So yes, this is one seriously quick SUV and we’re pretty sure the Bentayga isn’t out-running it off the line seen as how it needs 4.1 seconds to hit 100 km/h.
