Even though whispers of an all-electric pickup truck from Tesla have long subsided, it is by no means out of the realm of probability.
The reason why we’d say “probability” and not “possibility”, is because, back in 2013, Elon Musk himself stated that a Ford F150-rivaling pickup could be about 5 years away.
Musk was even quoted as saying that “if you’re trying to replace the most gasoline miles driven, you have to look at what people are buying. That’s [F-150] the best selling car in America. If people are voting that’s their car, then that’s the car we have to deliver.”
So if we are going to get a Tesla pickup truck in what would now be about 2 years time, what do you guys reckon it will look like? It could may well be similar to this rendering, or it could look entirely different altogether.
Since America loves the Ford F-Series so much, Tesla would probably be wise to make sure their pickup would fit right in with Heavy Duty competitors and not just smaller models such as the Chevy Colorado.
Who here wouldn’t love to see an ultra-rugged heavy duty all-electric pickup?
