You already knew that you can summon a Tesla Model S out of a garage using a smartphone, but you probably had no idea that you can do the same with Apple’s Watch too.

The feature became available last Wednesday, after an app update released for the wrist gadget, as International Business Times reports, and it works together with the 7.1 update on the Tesla Model S.

With the Apple Watch, users can have the vehicle open the garage door and autonomously pull in or out using the Remote S, and it works without the keyfob nearby, thanks to the Keyless Start in the app.

The Summon feature, which is currently in Beta stage, will eventually allow the car to “drive across the country to meet you, charging itself along the way“, according to the automaker.

It is an ingredient of the car’s Autopilot system, which has four modes: Autosteer, Auto Lane Change, Autopark and Automatic Emergency Steering and Side Collision Warning, which help it autonomously accelerate, parallel park, change lanes, maintain speed or alert drivers of various obstacles.

H/T to Jalopnik!
