It’s almost as if the American automaker was “employed” as one of the world’s most ethical companies, seen as how this is its 7th consecutive year in securing the award.

Yet according to the Ethisphere Institute, Ford was again the only automaker to be named a 2016 World’s Most Ethical Company – a distinction that reflects how ethics can affect customers and their purchase decisions.

“This honor celebrates our employees who are committed to doing the right things and making the right choices,” said executive chairman Bill Ford. “Ethics and corporate citizenship are the foundation of what drives us to make people’s lives better.”

As they’ve done in previous years, the Ethisphere institute looked for the best possible ratings in the following categories: ethics & compliance, corporate citizenship & responsibilities, culture of ethics, governance & leadership, and reputation.

“Ford understands that trust is the cornerstone of everything it does, and their commitment to being an active part of a global community helps explain why they are the only automaker Ethisphere has recognized every year since 2010,” said Ethisphere CEO Timothy Erblich. “Being honored for the seventh time is no small achievement. Congratulations to everyone at Ford for being recognized.”

Among all the other honors received by Ford recently, you’ll find: Forbes 2016 America’s Best Employers (133), a rating of 100% in the Human Rights Campaign 2015 Corp. Equality Index, Fast Company 50 Most Innovative Companies, plus quite a few others, including ‘LinkedIn 100 Most inDemand Employers’.
