Is This A Mule For BMW’s M7, The 7-Series Centennial Or Something Else?

Our spies nabbed an odd 7-Series being evaluated alongside other BMW prototypes in Sweden and which they believe, could be an early test mule for an M7, but we’re not entirely sure about that.

The only standout feature on the otherwise, stock-looking BMW Individual 7-Series, are the unusually big, cross-drilled brake discs hiding behind the 19-inch alloy wheels.

Now, to be fair, BMW itself recently added fuel to the rumors of an M7 stating just last week that, “the BMW Group intends to expand its range of powerful M Performance models within the higher volume segments, with a view to capitalizing on the growth and earnings potential of the BMW M brand“.

On the other hand, BMW only just released a half-baked M version of the 7-Series with the M760Li boasting a twin-turbo’d 6.6-liter V12 pushing 592hp (600PS) at 5,500 rpm and 590 lb-ft of torque served up at a low 1,500 rpm that can run from zero to 62mph (100km/h) in 3.9 seconds, so what more could an M7 bring to the table?

We’re just hypothesizing here, but the answer to that could be a more focused, lighter and a tad nimbler car based on the regular-wheelbase 7-Series with power coming from a twin-turbocharged V8 with over 650 horses.

There’s also a rumor about BMW creating a ‘Centennial Edition’ of the 7-Series as part of the brand’s 100th anniversary activities, so could it be this car that they’re testing here or are we looking at something entirely different?

At this point, with so little to go on, it’s all speculation, so we’ll just leave it at that until we get more information in our hands.
