It seems that the ‘International Truck of the Year 2013’ will be making an appearance during what’s supposed to be the greatest “gladiator match in the history of the world”.
Iveco’s heavy-duty commercial vehicle is getting some on-screen time next to the Dark Knight mainly because Warner Bros Pictures has partnered up with CNH Industrian sister company FCA, and because much of the action was captured in and around Detroit.
There’s not much we can deduce from the image, which means that we don’t know the whole story regarding how the truck will make its appearance in the movie, but we do know that this marks the Hi-Way’s official cinematic debut and that it will be present alongside the Batmobile, during a high-speed chase.
Also, this could be the same truck we saw in that Dodge spot where Batman is chasing down a Dodge Challenger.
According to reports, while addressing director Zack Snyder’s need for transportation on and off camera, FCA made sure that the Iveco wouldn’t be their only product taking center stage. In fact, in addition to the Hi-Way, the movie’s fleet includes models from Jeep, Dodge, Chrysler, FIAT, Alfa Romeo and even Maserati, where the latter could have even made a nice addition to the Wayne garage. Heck, it still might, though all we’ve seen Bruce Wayne drive in the trailers have been the Jeep Renegade and a classic Aston Martin.
H/T to Chris!
