A 60-year old driver of an Opel Astra hatch lost control of his car and smashed into a Porsche dealership in Stade, Germany, on Thursday morning.
Eyewitnesses told German authorities that they saw the driver of the Opel drifting to the opposite side of the road and without braking, touching the grass and hitting a lamppost and a property wall, before accelerating towards the Ferdinand-Porsche-Straße showroom, where he crashed through the glass and into a 996-generation Porsche 911 GT2.
Police said that the man, whose name has not been released, was in ‘severe’ shock after the accident, but was not injured, though; he was transported to a nearby hospital as a precautionary measure.
No one else was hurt in the incident, but the dealership’s facility and cars suffered damages in excess of €120,000 (equal to US$135,000), and that’s a preliminary estimate.
