Acquiring a genuine Ducati motorcycle will surely make the kid in you go berserk, but so will a Meccano version.
Ducati teamed up with Spin Master Corp – known for its children entertainment sector – to create and distribute a series of Meccano model sets dedicated to the Italian motorcycle builder’s line-up.
Debuting with the Ducati Monster 1200 S, the company offers Ducati’s authentic experience down to the last detail in a “Build and Play” experience. According to Meccano, no detail of the bike’s design and functionality has been missed, coming with a functional kickstand, side mounted staggered shotgun exhausts, coil-spring suspension, multi-piece wheels and real steering. Talk about a real experience scaled down.
Made from 290 individual parts, the model is a easy-to-built project dedicated for fans as young as ten; but that’s the only age limitation.
“We are delighted to announce this new licensing agreement, which will allow us to develop Ducati motorcycles in the distinctive Meccano style. I’m sure that Ducati fans of any age will have a lot of fun playing with the Meccano Build and Play series”, stated Alessandro Cicognani, Ducati Licensing Director.
Truth be told, we would like to see a couple of Meccano details being transferred into in real life Ducatis, just for the robotic, mechanical aspect of the thing.
