Remember the compact electric SUV that Mitsubishi displayed at numerous auto shows?
Quoting the brand’s UK boss Lance Bradley, Autocar says the eX will roll off the assembly line by the end of the decade.
“The commitment is to return to full EV when the infrastructure is mature. Full electric power is very much part of Mitsubishi’s future“, as Bradley explained.
Slotting right below the ASX and aimed towards the Juke, which was joined the Renault Captur, Peugeot 2008, Opel Mokka and Ford EcoSport, it will employ an electric powertrain and will be offered with all-wheel drive, automated driving and active safety systems.
The company refers to the study as a mixture of a shooting brake and compact SUV that brings a new interpretation of the Dynamic Shield design upfront, with the small grille, slim headlights and large DLRs/fog lamps.
Besides serving as a basis for a subcompact SUV, the eX, whose name stands for “electric S (cross)-over”, is supposed to inspire Mitsubishi’s new design language.
