As 2016 marks 80 years since the first 4/4 debuted, Morgan celebrates the model’s anniversary with a special edition.
On display at the Geneva Motor Show alongside the EV3, the new 4/4 takes lots of cues from the first versions and it is offered in three exterior colors: Morgan BRG, Saxe Blue and Dark Red. Each special edition is fitted with a brass grille, quad bonnet straps, tonneau cover and mohair roof.
A range of leather and box weave carpet color combinations can be selected by prospective buyers for the cabin, which also benefits from new trim details, leather door pull handles, leather door tops and a numbered plaque to remind owners that their rides were produced in just 80 examples.
Just like the standard Morgan 4/4, the special edition is offered in both LHD and RHD variants and it uses a 1.6-liter Ford Sigma engine, producing 110 PS (108 HP) and 131 Nm (97lb-ft) of torque, mated to a 5-speed Mazda gearbox.
The 795 kg (1,753 lbs) weighing car needs 8.0 seconds to reach 62 mph (100 km/h) and it can go up to a top speed of 115 mph (185 km/h), while burning a combined 6.4L/100km (36.75 mpg US) and emitting 143 g/km of CO2. Prices start from £33,330 (equivalent to $46,250), excluding taxes.
