The new Lotus Evora Sport 410 made its first public appearance at the Geneva Motor Show, representing the most hardcore version in the Evora range.
Lotus worked their magic to make the Evora Sport 410 lighter by 70kg (154 lbs), compared to the standard Evora 400 while they tuned the supercharged V6 to produce a bit more power now for a total of 410hp.
The 0-62 mph sprint comes in 4.1 seconds for the automatic model, with the old-fashioned manual needing 4.2 seconds for the same procedure.
The manual version though is the car you want as it’s eventually faster, with a top speed of 186mph against the 174mph of the auto’s, and more importantly lighter, tipping the scales at 1,325kg compared to the 1,337kg figure of the two-pedaled version. A low inertia flywheel combined with a Torsen limited-slip differential are also exclusive privileges to it.
The front splitter, roof panel, tailgate, rear diffuser as well as race-derived sports seats and a revised front access panel are all made out of carbon now with the tailgate being a one-piece component replacing the normal one which was made out of five different elements.
The new bodywork brought 15 per cent more downforce without increasing the drag. Lotus has fiddled with the geometry of the suspension while they completely revised the damping, dropping the ride height by 5mm as well.
The result is a 3 sec faster lap time time around Hethel when compared with the regular Evora 400.
Lotus says that they will limit production of the Evora Sport 410 to 150 cars per year, ensuring exclusivity to the owners.
Is it just me or Lotus is indeed stepping up its game considerably?
