We’ve been expecting the new Micra for quite some time now, but it looks like our wait is coming to end.
Our spies spotted the next Nissan city car being tested on public roads in Spain under some heavy and weird-looking cladding. Nissan tried to hide the obvious design inspiration from the Sway concept by adding extra bumps under the wrap but it’s pretty obvious that the new Micra is going to be a seriously attractive proposition in the compact segment.
The sporty looking body features an aggressive front end and hidden rear door handles for a coupe-like appearance, an almost revolutionary design approach when compared to the current, almost cartoonish-looking model.
European models are going to be manufactured at Renault’s plant in Flins. The new Micra is based upon a new platform called CMF-B which shares some of its elements with the also new CMF-A that will debut in the next Nissan Juke in 2018.
The new Nissan Micra is expected to be revealed in full at the Paris Motor Show in October.
