With so much interest and hype surrounding the revelation of Tesla’s affordable Model 3 later tonight, it’s no wonder that all sorts of photos are floating around the net – but it would be unwise to think that all of them are real.

The guys over at Autoblog are wondering if the blurry image you see above shows the new Model 3, but as Car&Driver found out after thinking the same thing, it’s sourced from an older video (check it out in the beginning, on the upper right-hand corner) of the Tesla Model X crossover, in which the pictured car was hiding behind the production model.

While the front does look a bit different due to the open-mouth grille, we’ll agree with C&D that it’s most likely one of the development prototypes of the Model X – don’t forget, Tesla’s original prototype of the crossover also came with a similar front piece.

The actual Model 3 will officially make its first appearance at around 8.30pm PDT (11:30pm EST) on March 31 – hopefully, this time, Tesla will stay on schedule
