How many P1s did we say McLaren built from October 2013 to December 2015? That would be 375, but the number of intact cars is decreasing, with the latest victim coming from China.
A silver-colored example of McLaren’s hypercar was involved in an accident in Hangzhou, the capital city of China’s Zhejiang province.
The pictures taken from a member of the Weibo forums paint a grizzly picture for the P1, as the car seems to have sustained heavy damages on just about every panel aside from the roof, and possibly, some sections of the rear.
There’s no information on how the accident happened and if and how many other cars were involved, nor if anyone was hurt.
The limited production hypercar that’s powered by a 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged V8 paired to an electric motor producing a combined 904 horses for a 0-100km/h (62mph) sprint in 2.8 seconds and a limited top speed of 351km/h (218mph), is said to cost 12.6 million Yuan in China, or the US equivalent of $2 million.
