Development of the new Audi A4 family will continue beyond the current models offered by the four-ring brand and it will culminate with the introduction of the RS4 Avant.
Staying true to its predecessors, the compact high-performance car will be offered in a single five-door estate body style and it will be set apart from its regular siblings with a unique grille, more aggressive front spoiler, distinct flared fenders on all four corners and a different rear end.
Moreover, it’s will also gain a tweaked interior, with sportier front seats, new instrument dials, modified steering wheel and new trim accents, but the most significant upgrade will come from under the hood, where the naturally aspirated V8 engine, from its predecessor, has been replaced by a turbocharged V6 powertrain.
Rumor has it that the new unit will produce as much as 500 HP, sent to the Quattro all-wheel drive through a dual-clutch automatic transmission. Performance figures remain in the dark for now, but Audi should reveal them over the next few months, probably at the 2016 Paris Motor Show, where it should make its world premiere.
