One of our readers tipped us off about an alleged official picture of the 2017 Porsche Panamera posted by CarAdvice, which claims it was “leaked in marketing documents obtained by CarAdvice” – to which we reply, codswallop, as no Porsche marketing material would ever have this picture and we can prove it.
If marketing documents from Porsche included this photograph, then someone would be in some deep copyright-trouble, because this image is an illustration made by AutoBild / Larson and was featured on both the German magazine and Car&Driver all the way back in 2014.
In fact – rather amusingly, this render isn’t even supposed to show the Panamera, but the rumored mid-size Porsche sedan, which some outlets baptized the Pajun. And to think that someone went into all that trouble cropping out the car and blacking out the license plate…
As for the real Panamera, our best look at the redesigned model comes through recent spy shots of a prototype sedan in almost completely undisguised form, with the only parts hidden being the light clusters. For the first time, Porsche will also add a more-practical and roomier shooting brake-style estate to the Panamera’s range, though, these testers leave more to the imagination.
So there you have it. We’re signing off here to let you sound off in the comments.
Thanks to Benny for the tip!
