Meet the VIP Design Project Predator, boasting 650 BHP (660 PS) and a top speed of more than 200 mph (321 km/h) that make the company’s claim look credible.
In order to generate the extra muscle, high-flow air filters had to be installed so as to increase combustion. The uprated supercharger pulley is part of the company’s “secret recipe”, increasing boost pressure and reducing 0-60 times and spiking power delivery across the rev range. A full three weeks were spent developing this remap on the dyno and now that the product is finalized, VIP Design can confidently state that theirs is the most powerful F-Type. But we’ll get to that in a second.
The mods didn’t stop there as the suspension was lowered by 30 mm and the exhaust system upgraded to a full manifold back, making the V8 even more loud.
“The exhaust was not deep enough, more of a shriek than a V8 rumble,” said managing director Paul Busby. “The VIP Design F-Type Predator changes all that, the full manifold back high performance exhaust system is switchable, allowing different purr levels – loud and really loud! You can’t help but grin every time you press the button.”
The overall upgrade includes a few unique carbon fiber styling mods as well such as the hood vents, splitters and rear diffuser. The hand cast aluminum wheels are available in 24 different design options and no fewer than 28 different colors. Also, customers who need their windows tinted can choose between almost 50 shades of gray (pun intended, we guess…).
The package is priced from £12,600, and can be installed at the VIP Design studio in Warwickshire or simply shipped to the owners location.
Now, about that claim. Is this the most powerful Jaguar F-Type ever? The one tuned by Arden is claimed to put down as much as 678 PS, but there are no performance numbers available. So we’ll hold out on a verdict if only for bragging rights, for 660 PS sound more than enough to us.
