Tesla’s autopilot system sparked a wave of silly videos on the internet, with owners pushing the system to its limits for entertaining purposes.
The American car maker even issued a “downgrade”, restricting the system’s functions in order to stop potential “daredevils” from committing a serious accident – you can only drive your Tesla Model S from the backseat without endangering yourself and others for a limited time.
Anyway, that doesn’t mean you can’t still have a laugh with Tesla’s autonomous tech – even if scaring a 70-year-old grandma with state-of-the-art, self-driving technology, making her believe some sort of witchcraft is happening, is not that funny. Or is it?
Cars have come a long way in their 130-year existence, keeping in times with technology. What seemed impossible 20 years ago is now the norm, and putting someone accustomed to “old-fashioned driving” at the wheel of a modern automobile with autonomous capabilities can be overwhelming for them. But Bill does it anyway, scaring his grandmother to death, as she can be heard saying, at one point: “Oh Jesus, this is my first day out and I’m about to die.”
Oh, the young can be so, so cruel to the elderly. You know Bill, you might want to remember this in case, say, a couple a decades from now your pod takes off on its “own” accord or something.
